Persistent Systems has opened a new facility in Fort Collins, Colorado, an expansion that is projected to support more than 100 jobs. The New York-based company manufactures communication and networking gear for the U.S. military, law enforcement, and federal agencies.
Herbert Rubens, the company's CEO, stated that the new location provides the additional space needed to expand operations and establish a longer-term foothold in the region. He described the move as an opportunity to deepen the company's presence in Northern Colorado.
Rubens attributed the site selection to the availability of skilled workers. He noted that Fort Collins offers a steady supply of talent from Colorado State University and existing technology employers. He specifically mentioned Intel and Broadcom as part of the local tech ecosystem that helps attract and retain staff.
Ann Hutchison, CEO of the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce, reinforced the value of the local workforce. She reported that nearly 25 percent of the city's population holds a graduate degree, while another 35 percent has a bachelor's degree. This educational profile makes the area competitive for specialized roles.
Senator John Hickenlooper commented on the strategic fit for the state. He said that building complex structures involving different companies working on parts of a complex mission is a core strength of Colorado's economy.
Rubens emphasized that the company's work focuses on maintaining connectivity for personnel in the field. He cited collaborations with law enforcement, the Coast Guard, and other federal bodies as central to the firm's mission in the new location.
