Nebraska football fans can wear costumes to Memorial Stadium, but athletic staff will enforce specific restrictions for the game against Washington. The Huskers host the Huskies on Halloween, marking the first such matchup in Lincoln since 1998.
The athletic department encourages attendees to dress in black, though full costumes are permitted. Staff will deny entry to fans carrying toy guns, swords, knives, or other weapon-like props. Standard stadium rules for clear bags and outside food and beverages remain in force.
Alcohol purchases require specific identification. Fans buying drinks at Memorial Stadium, the Cornhusker Kickoff, or the Modelo activation in the East Plaza must remove masks and face coverings. Nebraska Athletics stated that face paint blocking staff from properly identifying customers will result in denied service.
Family activities begin earlier in the day. The Hawks Center opens at 3 p.m. for the Cornhusker Kickoff event, which includes a Halloween Candy distribution for children. The main game is scheduled for 7 p.m. on the Big Ten Network.
The matchup pits the Nebraska Cornhuskers against the Washington Huskies. This event closes a 28 year gap for a Halloween game in Lincoln. The athletic department released the guidelines to inform fans of what they can and cannot bring into the venue.
