Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that Russia launched 16 ballistic missiles and more than 280 drones against Ukrainian territory on the night of October 26 to 27.

Zelenskyy stated on X that the strikes targeted the energy sector, logistics networks, and urban infrastructure across the country. The president listed Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Odesa, Chernihiv, Sumy, Donetsk, Kherson, and Chernivtsi oblasts as locations hit by the attack. He identified the Pivdennyi Bridge in Kyiv as a specific target that sustained damage.

Emergency services reported 12 people were injured when missiles struck a university campus and surrounding areas in Kyiv on the evening of October 26. Five of the injured individuals are students or university staff. Zelenskyy noted that Russian forces launched additional ballistic missiles while emergency crews were still responding to the initial impacts.

The Ukrainian air defense forces claimed to have destroyed or jammed 257 Russian aerial assets by 09:00 on October 27. These included two Iskander-M or S-400 ballistic missiles and 255 drones. The drones comprised Shahed and Gerbera models, with 69 of the Shahed units being jet-powered. Parodiya decoy UAVs were also part of the assault.

Zelenskyy criticized recent delays in the delivery of interceptor missiles for Patriot and NASAMS systems. He stated that these delays directly helped Russia achieve its operational objectives. The president previously announced on October 26 that Kyiv had waited nearly a month for US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth to approve the missile packages. Zelenskyy instructed his team to raise the issue with the US side again.
