Showers and thunderstorms continue to affect southern Colorado Sunday night, with precipitation expected to taper off before midnight. Forecasters indicate that any additional rain will total less than one inch across the region.
As moisture moves east and northeast overnight, lows will drop into the 40s and upper 30s in many communities. This shift marks the end of the wet spell and the start of a drier, warmer week.
Colorado Springs is forecast to see a low of 38 degrees and a high of 61 degrees. Pueblo will start the day at 45 degrees before rising to 64 degrees. Canon City is expected to bottom out at 42 degrees and reach 62 degrees.
Woodland Park presents the coldest start, with a low of 33 degrees and a high of 51 degrees. Despite the cool overnight, daytime highs in Teller County are set to reach or exceed average levels by the start of the week.
Temperatures will climb steadily through midweek, with some readings potentially reaching the 70s. Cloud cover will decrease, allowing abundant sunshine to persist through the middle of the week.
The extended outlook remains stable, with warmer conditions holding through Halloween. Dry skies and mild temperatures are expected to dominate until a new weather system arrives in the second half of the coming weekend.
