Ryan Dinnage received a prison sentence of eight and a half years in July for raping a woman while she slept.

The security operative had been charged in 2025, three years after the incident occurred at the Royal Windsor horse show.

Dinnage, 32, of Croydon, was convicted in June of entering the victim’s caravan in the early hours of 16 May 2022.

He accompanied Nigel Farage on local election campaign walkabouts in April and May.

Witnesses and records show Dinnage was beside Farage on at least four occasions this spring.

The locations included Llandudno in Conwy County, Waterlooville in Hampshire, Worthing in West Sussex, and Downham Market in Norfolk.

Reform UK confirmed that Dinnage provided protection for Farage during that period.

The party stated his services were supplied by a third-party contractor who assured them he had been vetted.

A spokesperson for the party said that once they learned of the charge, they were shocked and disgusted.

The spokesperson added that Dinnage ceased to be used by Reform immediately after the discovery.

Reform UK did not answer questions about whether they continued their relationship with the third-party contractor.

The party also did not specify what action was taken against the contractor following the incident. Questions remain about how a security operative facing a rape charge was placed near a senior politician and members of the public. A Labour spokesperson called for Farage to explain when Reform UK became aware of the situation. They urged the party to clarify what steps were taken to prevent a repeat. The Labour spokesperson criticized Farage for lurching from scandal to scandal. They noted that Farage had shrugged off recent claims of misogyny. The spokesperson stated that Reform UK has an appalling track record regarding women. They argued it is time for Farage to show leadership and get his house in order. Farage is generally accompanied by a large security team due to threats made against him. The man accused of murdering Ann Widdecombe faces charges for preparing acts of terrorism, including against Farage. Counter-terror police reopened an investigation into an alleged firebomb attack at Farage’s south London home over the summer. Farage has said he accepted a £5m gift from crypto billionaire Christopher Harborne to pay for his security for life. He previously turned down taxpayer-funded security, deeming it inadequate. Thames Valley police reported that the victim was raped while sleeping. Dinnage entered her caravan in the early hours of the morning. The victim reported the crime to police later that day. Dinnage was arrested the following day. Reform UK is not the only party facing scrutiny over vetting failures. The Conservatives were criticized by Reform UK for employing former election candidate Jack Ross. Ross was filmed by an undercover reporter discussing the cost of hiring contract killers. He had worked as a consultant in Kemi Badenoch’s office. Ross is facing an investigation by the Tories. In the footage, he was seen asking an undercover reporter what they wanted done. He also appeared to offer to broker the services of an alleged far-right paramilitary group. Police in Scotland are reviewing an Al Jazeera documentary featuring Ross. In the video, he discusses using far-right groups to create street disruption. He also comments on what a contract killer could be employed to do.
