Trick-or-treaters in the Philadelphia region can expect a clear sky and a high of 61 degrees Saturday. The forecast calls for mostly sunny conditions, with no rain in sight for the holiday. Temperatures will drop to 45 degrees after sunset.

The dry spell will hold through the weekend. High pressure dominates the eastern United States, keeping moisture away from the area. Sunday brings partly sunny skies and a high of 63 degrees. The low will fall to 42 degrees. Daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. Sunday, giving residents an extra hour of sleep.

Warmer air moves in Monday. The high reaches 69 degrees. By Tuesday, sun and clouds mix, pushing the high to 74 degrees. The temperature climbs further Wednesday to 76 degrees. This places the region more than 10 degrees above the average for early November.

Rain finally returns later in the week. A storm system approaching from the west may bring showers as early as Wednesday night. The best chance for widespread rainfall occurs Thursday into Friday. Thursday’s high is 74 degrees, with a low of 61 degrees. Friday sees a shower chance, with a high of 68 degrees and a low of 62 degrees.

Meteorologists note that the exact timing and amounts of this rain remain uncertain. The system could end the region’s unusually long stretch of dry weather. No significant severe weather threat is currently indicated for the incoming system.
